Shavuot (or Pentecost) The pouring out of the Holy Spirit!

As I write this article today, the rest of the USA recognizes today (06/20/21) as "father's day". But, let us give praise and glory to the best Father of ALL TIME, our Heavenly Father YHWH! He gave His children certain feast days to celebrate. One of those days is Shavuot, also known as Pentecost. It was first accomplished at Mt Sinai after He brought His children out of Egypt and through the Red Sea unto the Holy Mountain of YHWH, where He spoke and gave us the Ten Commandments! It is truly a "set apart" day on YHWH's "Day Planner" to give thanks and honor to our Heavenly Father!

It was again fulfilled many centuries later when He filled Yeshua's disciples with the Ruach HaKodesh or Holy Spirit in Jerusalem on Shavuot.

An awesome thing happened this morning, not unlike what He does on most mornings, but it was still awesome as far as His timing is concerned!

I woke up ready to worship Him today and celebrate His Feast of Shavuot! We realize not everyone that reads this considers this day to be Shavuot and others are certainly free to seek Him about His calendar and timing and what day to celebrate. We count 50 days from the "weekly" sabbath that falls during the week of Pesach (Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread) There is NO condemnation from us at all if you do it differently.

I am simply saying this day is the Feast of Shavuot for Lisa and I. So, I woke up ready to celebrate. We always try to begin our day by praying and asking Abba for verses to lead us through the day. Lisa prays (and with her eyes shut) opens her physical Bible and points down to find verses. I open my iphone Olive Tree Bible and open the list of 66 books, close my eyes and let my finger fall to the screen, which clicks on a Book, then I click again (with eyes closed) to get a chapter and then click once more to get verses.

We are not implying to anyone else that this is how "they" should seek YHWH, but only saying this is how we do it and have been doing it daily for many years now.

The awesome thing is that He almost always opens us to verses that deal "exactly" with what is occurring in our lives at that particular time. I prayed before finding verses, thanking Him for Shavuot and asked Him to bless our day by once again pouring out a greater renewing of His Holy Spirit on to Lisa and I. I prayed that He give us a greater measure of any of the spiritual gifts He wants to use us in and asked that He first and foremost give us the gift to prophecy, as He instructed us to covet to prophesy.

Today I was NOT surprised at all as I opened my eyes and these were the verses on my screen:

Act 2:15  For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
Act 2:16  But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
Act 2:17  And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
Act 2:18  And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
Act 2:19  And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
Act 2:20  The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
Act 2:21  And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
 (These verses are speaking of the day of Shavuot!)

Praise YHWH for His faithfulness and His willingness to spend time with His children. May you all have a blessed day and enjoy THEE Father's Day!
