Time Out Celebrating

Reasons For Joy

Why Take Time Out to Celebrate? My husband and I have pondered the biblical principles of praise and rejoicing. There are many situations described in the Bible about worshipping our Heavenly Father and Messiah. There seems to be significant importance to God's people achieving victory in pursuits of good accomplishments, and to encourage our own hearts in emotional comfort, and thinking. Here are a couple of portions in the Bible to bring some examples.

2Chronicles 5:12 And the Levitical singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brothers, being clothed in white linen, having cymbals and with harps and lyres, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them a hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets,

2Chronicles 5:13 and they were as one to the trumpeters and to the singers, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking Jehovah; and as they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised Jehovah, saying, For He is good, for His mercy endures forever, the house was filled with a cloud, the house of Jehovah,
2Chronicles 5:14 so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of Jehovah had filled the house of God!

Note: I provided the complete Bible address for all to benefit who may view the "Joy Daily" and may not be familiar with abbreviated names of books in the Bible. All are welcome here! Please use the bible translation you are comfortable reading. I use the King James Version which is difficult for many until one adapts to learning what the old language terms means in modern western language. Example: "thou" means: You

How wonderful it is to rejoice deliberately and frequently. Let's take "time out" rejoicing in all of God's goodness with song, dance, and speaking of his greatness. Laying aside tasks to give our Heavenly Father full attention.

A couple more sections to consider.

Proverbs 15:13 A merry heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken.

Proverbs 15:15 All the days of the afflicted are evil, but gladness of heart is a continual feast.

Proverbs_17:22 A merry heart does good like a medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.

Do you know that a person can choose to rejoice? Yes, by turning our attention to all of God's goodness we can choose to rejoice at any time of day. In times of trouble, human beings need the medicine of rejoicing to help us stay well, emotionally and physically. Scientists have added evidence that a cheerful positive attitude brings people better health.
