Words of Life Quest
(aka: Yeshua's Plan)
Bringing people together online and everywhere, to know that you ARE special and that you are truly loved!
Wonderful! So, we have already established that you believe that God the Father and Jesus exist, or you would not have clicked the button to be directed here! But maybe you find the Bible, or at least parts of it difficult to understand.
That’s ok. I can’t say truthfully that I have it 100% figured out, but that does not make me doubt in the least that God loves me (and YOU) and He is faithful who began a good work in us and He will complete it!
Php 1:4 - 6 Always in every prayer of mine for you all, making request with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; being confident of this very thing, that Jesus who has begun a good work in you, will perform it until the day He returns!
Let me encourage you, if you feel at all that you don’t really hear or understand what He is telling you every day, or if you feel awkward just talking to Him and think that maybe He is not listening to you, then let me assure you, things are about to change for YOU, and I mean GREAT things!
Did you know that faith comes by hearing (or just listening, and we can all do that!), and hearing (what God wants us to hear) comes by hearing the Word of God. Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
I have been hearing what God is telling me recently, like in the last two years, better and more intimately than what I have probably heard from Him in the 20 years before those 2 years! Now, I am not talking about hearing Him in an audible voice. I believe He can and sometimes does speak in an audible voice to people today, but the normal method is through His Holy Spirit and through His Words (the Bible).
I stated above Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. That is TRUTH, but it is also a promise. And when our Heavenly Father promises us something, brothers and sisters, He follows through with His promises, EVERY time! So, lets just listen and hear what He has to say, because with just like anything else in life, the more we practice, the better we get.
Jas 1:22 - 25 Do what God's teaching says; don't just listen and do nothing. When you only sit and listen, you are fooling yourselves. Hearing God's teaching and doing nothing is like looking at your face in the mirror and doing nothing about what you saw. You go away and immediately forget how bad you looked. But when you look into God's perfect law that sets people free, pay attention to it. If you do what it says, you will have God's blessing. Never just listen to his teaching and forget what you heard.
So, one of the first things to know, if you truly “desire” and want to hear what God is saying to you, is to then follow through with what you hear in His Word, or teachings.
Here is another important thing to know, many people struggle speaking “directly” to God or think they can not really hear what He is saying by His Spirit, because they have a wrong perception of God.
They feel condemned, because they have heard sermon after sermon, or people in their lives telling them that they must follow God’s commandments, or God is displeased with you. You feel that you can never measure up to doing His commandments well enough, so you have a perception that God is angry or mad toward you.
So, once again, let’s start off by “hearing” what God’s Word actually says:
1st John 4:16 So we know the love that God has for us, and we trust that love. God is love. Everyone who lives in love lives in God, and God lives in them.
Titus 3:3 - 7 In the past we were foolish too. We did not obey, we were wrong, and we were slaves to the many things our bodies wanted and enjoyed. We lived doing evil and being jealous. People hated us and we hated each other. But then the kindness and love of God our Savior was made known. He saved us because of his mercy, not because of any good things we did. He saved us through the washing that made us new people. He saved us by making us new through the Holy Spirit. God poured out to us that Holy Spirit fully through Jesus Christ our Savior. We were made right with God by his grace. God saved us so that we could be his children and look forward to receiving life that never ends.
Now, think about the word “Perception” or the mental frame of mind in how we view something to be. We see a glass half full of water. Is it half FULL or half EMPTY. The positive viewpoint will see it as half FULL, plenty left. The negative outlook will see it as half EMPTY, not enough left.
How do you see or “Perceive” the word “commandments”?
Do you see “God’s Commandments” as “demands” or “to order” or “to control”? What is your general perception of the word?
I am not suggesting that God’s commandments are simply “suggestions”, but I am saying that if you study the original meaning of any Word, you tend to have a much better understanding of what it actually means.
So, lets do that now. Let’s look up the Hebrew word for “Commandments”. One of the Hebrew words for “Commandments” is the Hebrew word “Mitsvah” which means “a command, whether divine of human” and “the law”. The base word that “mitsvah” comes from is “tsawvah” which means “to constitute, enjoin, appoint, send a messenger, set in order”.
Another Hebrew word for “Commandments” is “dawbawr” which means “a word, a matter of a thing, cause, advice and answer”. And the Hebrew word for God’s “Law” is the Hebrew word “Torah” which means “precept” or “statute” and comes from the root word “yahraw” which means “to flow as water or rain” and “shoot an arrow, like an archer toward a target” and “point out, teach, instruct, inform”.
So, are you starting to get a different “perception” or view of the true meaning of God’s Commandments and Laws? These is better defined as God (who is love) sharing with us His loving teachings, instructions, answers, advice, to help us set in order how to do things.
He teaches us these loving instructions with the purpose that we should be blessed and prosper, not as thundering down lightning bolts and demands upon us and condemning us whenever we fail to do things perfectly.
The word says God does chasten us, but because He loves us and wants to help us learn His ways of blessings, so we are not cursing ourselves.
Let’s hear Him speak to us again:
Heb 12:5- 11 Have you forgotten the encouraging words which God speaks to you as his children? "My child, pay attention when the Lord corrects you, and do not be discouraged when he rebukes you. Because the Lord corrects everyone he loves, and punishes everyone he accepts as a child." Endure what you suffer as being a father's punishment; your suffering shows that God is treating you as his children. Was there ever a child who was not punished by his father? If you are not punished, as all his children are, it means you are not real children, but bastards. In the case of our human fathers, they punished us and we respected them. How much more, then, should we submit to our spiritual Father and live! Our human fathers punished us for a short time, as it seemed right to them; but God does it for our own good, so that we may share his holiness. When we are punished, it seems to us at the time something to make us sad, not glad. Later, however, those who have been disciplined by such punishment reap the peaceful reward of a righteous life.”
And remember what Yeshua said in Mat 7:9 - 11 “Would any of you who are fathers give your son a stone when he asks for bread? or would you give him a snake when he asks for a fish? As bad as you are, you know how to give good things to your children. How much more, then, will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!”
Our Heavenly Father wants you to talk to Him at all times. He wants to speak to you at all times.
He wants you to know that He hears everything you share with Him. He is your loving Heavenly Father and wants more than anything to invite you into all good things.
There is another perception to consider. If you see Heavenly Father as always giving you commands and things to do and rules to follow, you will not enter into that sweet, exciting, intimate relationship that He is wanting to bless you with. Try to change your perspective and see Him as He truly is. He is “inviting” you daily into things He knows will bless you and you will find exciting. He is not the “shift boss” handing you a to-do list, that you better get done, and get done right and in time.
God wants to serve you. Remember what Jesus told His disciples? Mat 20:28 like the Son of Man, who did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life to redeem many people."
Joh 13:8 Peter declared, "Never at any time will you wash my feet!" "If I do not wash your feet," Jesus answered, "you will no longer be my disciple."
We can not give out that which we do not have within us. If we want to serve others, as Yeshua taught his disciples at the Last Supper, then we have to humble ourselves and allow Jesus to first serve us. Then we can go out and do as He did.
Please allow the Lord to serve you and love on you and help you to see how much He desires a daily intimate relationship with you. Then talking to Him and hearing from Him will just come naturally!
